Meditation

Calm your mind, bring ease to your nervous system and create habits for a peaceful life.

What is Meditation?

Meditation and Mindfulness practices are ancient mind-body practices that are widely known as relaxation techniques to reduce stress and improve inner peace, things that are highly sought after in the fast-paced world of today.

Having a regular Meditation practice has endless powerful benefits that can be seen in all areas of life, health and awareness.

Meditation can be a self-guided practice or guided by another either live or via a recording.

It may involve breath techniques (counting your breath, observing your breath), awareness exercises (observing your thoughts, observing the sensations in your body), focussed attention (on an object, breath or mantra), while sitting or lying down in a comfortable position.

It requires you to relax, to do nothing at all except for observe your own inner world and realise the separation between you and your thoughts.

Meditation encourages you to assume the seat of the observer of your experience, not the thinker.

By taking intentional time from 1 minute to 30 minutes or longer, to sit, breathe and observe your thoughts, meditation allows you to build resilience in the mind and accumulatively build a sense of equanimity within yourself.

Equanimity is about cultivating a strong place within yourself, that is a centre of calm to return to amongst the external seasons and storms of life.

As Meditation is an ancient practice, there are many different styles of practice, it’s important to find the one that works for you.
