Sound Healing
What is Sound Healing?
Sound healing is a powerful modality that utilises sound and vibration to support the body to return to balance.
The forms of Sound Healing that we see today originate from ancient practices. Mantra was the first form of sound healing and it involved frequencies created by humans and then instruments.
Sound Healing works on the premise that everything is frequency and when there are imbalances in the body, a frequency can help bring it back into balance.
Sound is first perceived through the ears but the vibrations are felt in the body and create impact on the cellular level instantaneously.
Harmonious and dissonant frequencies are able to be used to create patterns to ‘break up’ stagnant energy and replenish energy.
Sound healing has the power to impact the human being’s whole life.
Its potency reaches beyond the physical body and can have great impact on thoughts, emotions and patterns that create behaviour.
When there are changes the internal layers, we see changes in the external world.
This is why it is important to have a strong healing intention and a practitioner you trust when using or immersing in this modality.
What is a Sound Bath?
A sound bath is a sensory immersion of sound and vibration. Participants lay down in a comfortable position and receive a live soundscape played for them with the intention of deep relaxation and rest.
Similar terms for sound bath could be a sound journey or sound healing session.
Sound baths are meditative and therapeutic in nature and can involve ambient, relaxing tones that may build up in intensity to create a soundscape that is journey from soothing, gentle to uplifting, shifting, expansive and then grounding.
Facilitators create their soundscapes with various instruments including: crystal bowls, metal bowls, chimes, gongs, guitars, voice, medicine drum, shakers, flutes and other percussive instruments.
Sessions often involve guided breath, meditation, grounding techniques that prepare the body to open and receive and integration slowness and stillness that allow the body to digest the experience.

Sound Healing in the Scalar Room at HHCC
The Scalar Room is a special space emitting harmonious frequencies that are designed to recharge the human (and animal) body at the cellular level. This can be felt through an overall sense of relaxation and calm that is felt once entering the room.
Experiencing any modality in the Scalar Room is very potent due to the body already reaching a state of relaxation to open and receive.
